The prize for winning the contest was one free set of traditional braces.

Alexa Forberg, a tenth grader at Harborfields High School in Greenlawn, was named winner of the Spectacular Smiles art contest sponsored by Gellerman Orthodontics as part of its 10th year anniversary celebration. Alexa submitted a mixed media artwork titled “What Makes Me Smile” that is currently on display at Gellerman Orthodontics in Huntington.

“Our entire office had a hard time deciding on a winner. All of the drawings and paintings from the children were so creative, and we know that the children worked so hard on their drawings and paintings. All of the artwork will be on display in the office for at least a month so that our patients and family members can enjoy viewing them,” said Dr. Inna Gellerman.

“Alexa did a wonderful job creating What Makes Me Smile, which will remain at our office, beaming happily in the reception area and bringing a smile to all who see it,” she added.

The winning artwork was announced at the Fall Festival at Gellerman Orthodontics, which took place on Saturday, October 26. Alexa, a patient of Dr. Gellerman whose braces came off recently, will present her prize — one set of free traditional braces, including all scans, records, appointments and one set of retainers — to a family member of her choice.
