Women: Secretary Kerry to Host the 2013 U.S.- China Consultation on People-to-People Exchange

Secretary of State John Kerry will host the fourth annual U.S.-China Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE) in coordination with Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong, on November 21, 2013, in Washington, D.C.

The CPE aims to promote and strengthen people-to-people ties between the United States and China in the fields of education, culture, science and technology, sports, and women’s issues. It provides a high-level annual forum for government and private-sector representatives to discuss cooperation on exchanges in a broad, strategic manner.

Recognizing the fundamental role that citizens play in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between our two countries, the United States and China inaugurated the CPE in Beijing in May 2010, and held subsequent consultations in April 2011 in Washington and in May 2012 in Beijing.
