Europe and Eurasia: The Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations Announces the Construction Award for the New Office Annex in Moscow, Russia

The Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) announces the construction award, through best value determination, of the new office annex in Moscow, Russia to Caddell Construction Company of Montgomery, Alabama.

The 242,000 square-foot facility will be constructed on the existing embassy site. When completed, the new annex will provide embassy employees with a secure, modern, and sustainable workspace.

This project, designed by Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum (HOK) of St. Louis, Missouri, will provide a new consular section and office space in the new annex building, as well as staff housing and security upgrades for the complex.

OBO’s mission is to provide safe, secure, and functional facilities that represent the U.S. Government to the host nation and support our staff in the achievement of U.S. foreign policy objectives. These facilities should represent American values and the best in American architecture, engineering, technology, sustainability, art, culture, and construction execution.
