Oil & Gas UK Celebrates Supply Chain's Improving Efficiency with Award Presentations at PILOT Share Fair

In a clear indication that the UK supply chain is growing in efficiency, Oil & Gas UK announced at the PILOT Share Fair that 23 operator and contractor companies have demonstrated their commitment to the PILOT Supply Chain Code of Practice (SCCoP) by earning new awards in its tiered compliance scheme which recognises best practice in commercial activities.

Oonagh Werngren, Oil & Gas UK’s operations director, said: “We are particularly heartened to see that out of 142 signatories to the Code, 13 have achieved the Award of Excellence which demonstrates that their suppliers rate their clients’ performance very highly. I would also like to congratulate those companies which have achieved Gold, Silver and Bronze awards as the SSCOP is an aspirational code of conduct and a number of companies have made progress beyond their initial grade of compliance award. The Code of Practice is also a valuable tool for encouraging and measuring improvements across the industry. ”

The companies who achieved an Award of Excellence in 2013 are Aker Solutions, AMEC, BG Group plc, BP, Centrica Energy, Chevron North Sea Ltd, ConocoPhillips (U.K.) Limited, Petrofac, Shell U.K. Limited, Talisman Sinopec Energy (UK) Limited, Technip UK Limited, Total E&P UK Limited and Wood Group PSN.

Gold awards were presented to AGR Well Management Limited, Apache North Sea Ltd, Enquest and Fairfield Energy. Companies achieving Silver awards are Halliburton, Marathon Oil U.K LLC, Nexen Petroleum, RWE Dea UK and Taqa Bratani Limited with Bibby Offshore Ltd earning a Bronze award.

Oonagh Werngren, added: “It is fitting that we have the opportunity to present the awards at Share Fair which  is all about providing a key mechanism for helping the industry to work more effectively together to maximise economic recovery of our oil and gas reserves. The Supply Chain Code of Practice has an important role in addressing that challenge and is a key tool to help industry improve performance, eliminate unnecessary costs and boost competitiveness.  I hope that by publishing the achievements of the award winning companies, we will encourage other firms to aim for these high levels of attainment. ”
