FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - November 4, 2013 - GOURMET EXPRESS, LLC VOLUNTARILY RECALLS 32 OUNCE PACKAGES OF FUSIA CHICKEN LO MEIN AND 21 OZ PACKAGES OF “BREMER 3 CHEESE CHICKEN” AND “BREMER GARLIC SHRIMP SKILLET MEALS DUE TO POSSIBLE UNDECLARED EGGS. People who have allergies to egg, run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled FUSIA CHICKEN LO MEIN, BREMER 3 CHEESE CHICKEN AND BREMER GARLIC SHRIMP were distributed to Aldi distribution centers in Mt. Joliet, TN; Jefferson, GA; Batavia, IL; Valparaiso, IN and Webberville, MI areas. The products may have been shipped to Aldi retail stores.

The FUSIA CHICKEN LO MEIN comes in a 32 oz multi-colored plastic package, BREMER 3 CHEESE CHICKEN AND BREMER GARLIC SHRIMP come in 21 oz multi- colored package and all three are marked BEST BY APR 9 2015 stamped on the top tear strip.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

The voluntary recall was initiated after it was discovered that the egg-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of eggs. The possible allergen contamination was identified as part of Gourmet Express’s continuing food quality processes. The Company has worked with the Food and Drug Administration as well as its distributor to withdrawal the affected products. The Company has also improved its food safety protocols and procedures to prevent future occurrences and to ensure no additional contamination is observed. Gourmet Express produces a variety of skillet meals offering high quality dining based on beef, poultry, pork and seafood. Gourmet Express is committed to continuing to provide high quality and nutritionally balanced skillet meals with quality ingredients and flavorful recipes at affordable prices.

While no illnesses have been reported, consumers who have purchased the products identified should not consume or serve these products and may return them to their place of purchase for a full refund or contact Gourmet Express directly for a full refund or exchange.
