ADIL’s Rob Pickles becomes Fourth “Energising the Nation’s Future” Campaign Winner
“Energising the Nation’s Future”, the nationwide awareness campaign to improve recognition and understanding of the oil and gas industry, has today announced the fourth winner of its monthly prize draw. Rob Pickles, General Manager at ADIL, the independent oil and gas consultancy, becomes the fourth recipient of a Samsung Galaxy Tablet given away by Oil & Gas UK, drawn at random from those who have registered on the campaign website.
Commenting on the win, Rob Pickles, General Manager at ADIL, said: “I’ve worked in oil and gas for over 20 years and I’m incredibly proud to work in an industry that contributes so much to the UK. I've spent half of that career working internationally and have been privileged to see, first-hand, the respect and esteem in which the UK oil and gas industry is held across the world. I fully support ‘Energising the Nation’s Future’ and the awareness it hopes to raise. I’d urge as many people as possible to register, so that the industry can gain the recognition it deserves”.
The “Energising the Nation’s future” campaign focuses on three key attributes of the oil and gas industry: Innovation, Skilled Job Creation and Economic Contribution.
Since the campaign launched on 30 April, oil and gas industry employees have been registering their interest online, mapping their location and relationship to the sector, and sharing their experiences. The information is helping to build a comprehensive picture of the industry’s UK-wide network of skilled workers and celebrating the breadth of the supply chain supported by the sector.
Malcolm Webb, Chief Executive of Oil & Gas UK, added:: “The importance of the oil and gas industry to the UK is widely underestimated. The industry is not only a vital contributor to the country’s economy; it’s also indispensable in the jobs and skills it provides throughout the UK.

The main aim of this campaign is to raise awareness of this industry and share stories which resonate with people across the UK.”
