This summer, Life Remodeled, a non-profit organization based in Westland, Michigan, renovated 36 houses, boarded up over 250 vacant houses, did complete roofing jobs on 7 homes and improved 65 city blocks with help from more than 5,000 volunteers. R.A.M Residential, a leading roofing contractor in the Detroit area, was proud to be a part of this event.

During this event, a low-income family received a brand-new house, built in just 6 days. This family is also provided with a comprehensive approach to improving their lives after their new home is completed. These services include professional family counseling and financial training, as well as spiritual and personal support. The neighborhood in which this new home resides is also improved, with debris removed, area lawns cut, and emergency home repairs provided to local families.

Research indicates that there are families in every Detroit area community who can benefit from the Life Remodeled program. Since 2011, this non-profit has given away 6 free homes to needy families in local Michigan communities.
