Team Toyo’s Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis the Headliner in UFC 164
CYPRESS, CA -- UFC Lightweight Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis will be joined by the newest member of Team Toyo, UFC Featherweight Chad ‘Money’ Mendes, as they compete at UFC 164: Harley Davidson Hometown Throwdown. The 26-year-old Pettis has a 16-2-0 record and is a popular representative of the Toyo Tires brand. He will do battle in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin against Benson ‘Smooth’ Henderson in the headliner Lightweight Title Fight this Saturday, August 31 at 10pm ET / 7pm PT.
Also competing on the Main Card that evening, the 28-year-old Mendes from Hanford, California, will square off against Clay ‘The Carpenter’ Guida in the Featherweight Division. Mendes has a record of 14-1-0 and is a member of Team Alpha Male. He began as a wrestler at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, being voted the Pac-10 Wrestler of the Year in 2008. Mendes will help to promote the Toyo Tires brand through appearances and additional marketing efforts.
