The Cape Light Compact, Columbia Gas, NSTAR and Western Massachusetts Electric Company and the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project are excited to announce the upcoming Boston Area Energy Workshop. Classroom teachers (4-12) have an opportunity to learn energy in a fun and exciting way. There is no cost to attend the workshop. Breakfast, lunch, and a stipend are provided.
The workshop will teach the concepts of force, motion, light, sound, heat, electricity, magnetism, and energy transformations through hands-on activities and provide lessons to monitor and measure energy use at home and at school. Additional curriculum materials to teach about energy and energy resources (including electricity and energy efficiency) will be provided.
This workshop explores the forms of energy and energy transformations, teaches about the sources of energy, and provides resources to reduce energy use at home and at school. Participating teachers receive a Science of Energy Kit to teach about energy transformations and a Monitoring and Mentoring Kit for energy data collection and analysis.
