Energy Department Press Secretary Aoife McCarthy made the following statement regarding a recent letter from House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa about the Bonneville Power Administration:

“Chairman Issa simply has his facts wrong. As the IG recognized, the Department initiated immediate corrective actions which were fully responsive to the IG’s findings and recommendations so far. The Department also directed the Administrator of BPA to ensure that there would be no retaliation against any employees and to immediately suspend any such actions that had already been taken. The Deputy Secretary is committed to a workplace where any and all employees are free raise concerns without fear of retaliation.”
