WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 8, 2012 — Business law experts will provide updates on the latest trends in auditing, financing, securities, investments and lobbying at the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section Fall Meeting. The ABA Business Law Section will host the conference Nov. 16 – 17 at the Ritz-Carlton Washington Hotel, 1150 22nd St., N.W., Washington, D.C.

Program highlights include:

“Legal Outsourcing: Practical and Ethical Considerations” — Panelists will address practical and ethical considerations and consequences of legal outsourcing by lawyers. Nov. 16, 10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

“Impact of the JOBS Act on Hedge Funds and Other Private Investment Funds” — The JOBS Act permits the use of private investment funds to advertise and generally solicit prospective investors, so long as reasonable steps are taken to verify that all investors are accredited. Panelists will discuss how the act will change the private investment fund industry, among other issues. Nov. 16, 2 – 3:30 p.m.

“A Dialogue with Key Regulators on Title VII of Dodd-Frank” — Senior officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission will discuss the two agencies’ work in implementing Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010. Nov. 16, 3:30 – 5 p.m.
