Sea King Fly Past Opens Piper Alpha 25th Anniversary Rededication and Act of Remembrance

A Sea King from D Flight 202 Squadron RAF Lossiemouth will open the service by conducting a fly past at 11.00am on Saturday 6 July subject to operational commitments.

The ceremony will be led by the Reverend Gordon Craig, chaplain to the UK oil and gas industry, and will include a roll call of those lost in the tragedy, read out by representatives of the offshore workforce.

Order of Service

• Fly past by a Sea King Helicopter from D Flight 202 Squadron RAF Lossiemouth to signify the part that this aircraft played on the 6 July.
• Introduction by the Reverend Gordon Craig, Chaplain to the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Address from Councillor George Adam the Lord Provost and Mr Geoff Holmes, CEO of Talisman Sinopec Energy UK.
• Prayer of Rededication and Act of Remembrance.
• Roll call of those who lost their lives will be read out by:
  • The Chaplain.
  • Jim Trodden, OIM, Chevron.
  • Steve Walton, Safety Representative, Wood Group PSN.
  • Robert Scott, Safety Representative of the Year 2012, Bilfinger Salamis.
  • Willie Watt, Safety Representative of the Year 2011.
  • Clare Davidson, Construction Engineer, Aker Solutions.
• Floral tributes will be laid.

Music will be provided by the Bon Accord Brass Band.
