Final Places Available for London Breakfast Briefing on Maintaining Licence to Do Business in the Oil and Gas Industry

With public interest in the future of the UK’s energy sector growing, Oil & Gas UK is taking the opportunity to sharpen focus on the continuing role of the oil and gas industry as a major supporter of the UK’s economy and energy security. There are a small number of places remaining for a breakfast event to discuss this theme, hosted and chaired by Oil & Gas UK and sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills and The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Kerry Kent, vice president of government relations and public policy at Discovery Communications; Tina Trickett, director at PwC London; and Paul Baverstock, co-founder of Fortitude Partners will all be speakers at Oil & Gas UK’s breakfast briefing entitled ‘Maintaining Licence to Do Business in the Oil and Gas Industry’. The event takes place at The Royal Bank of Scotland, 280 Bishopsgate on Tuesday July 9.

The oil and gas industry in the United Kingdom is by some margin the most important industrial contributor to the British economy. The industry is also a world-class driver of innovation in British science, technology and engineering, in addition to creating an impressive number of skilled and valued jobs.

This event will explore the challenges in ensuring these facts are well known and understood. Considering on the perceptions of the industry’s regulator, the financial community that funds the sector, and those governing fiscal policy, speakers will discuss the challenge of maintaining its licence to do business, the benefits of ensuring positive perceptions of the industry and the political risks to the industry if we fail to make our case well known and understood.

A graduate of Harvard and Yale, Paul Baverstock is a strategic communicator and corporate affairs expert; he will draw on his diverse experience both at Fortitude Partners and from working for the Conservative Party.

With over 25 years’ experience working with the oil and gas industry, Tina Trickett will offer her insights for maintaining licence in her presentation titled ‘Who Controls Your Licence to Operate?’ whilst Kerry Kent will discuss ‘Reputation, Relevance and Raising Your Profile’.

The breakfast will also be attended by representatives from across the oil and gas industry and aims to provide an opportunity to network.

Places at the breakfast can be booked online here.
