Michael Anderson, owner and director of Anderson Funeral Home, Inc., announced the expansion, along with Arin Rudd, the owner and director of the new Blissfield location.
"We advertised locally to determine if there was a need for a second funeral home in the Blissfield area again, and the response from the community was overwhelming and very supportive of having a local representative back in Blissfield," explained Anderson. "The Promedica office building right next to the village cemetery became available, and they worked with us to help make this expansion happen."
The Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home will be located at 9205 East U.S. Hwy 223, Blissfield, MI 49228. The building is currently under renovation, in preparation for a grand opening next month.
Rudd, a funeral director who grew up in Deerfield, previously worked with a local funeral home before joining the Anderson team. Her caring and compassion for families during their time of need is what prompted her to pursue the new venture with Anderson. “We each have a passion to help others through this service. I’m looking forward to working closely with families in the Blissfield area,” she said.
First-generation funeral directors are special, according to Anderson. Because they have chosen this profession, they are dedicated to the services they provide and often see it as a ministry to others. The new business venture expands this first-generation commitment to the Blissfield area, and reintroduces Rudd’s services to people she knows and previously helped.
"Opening this location benefits the consumer as well as the community,” Anderson explained. “And, the village offices and community leaders have been very helpful and supportive of our desire to provide another choice for funeral services in Blissfield."
