Wire Manufacturer Concerned About US Industry Praises VoterVoice Outreach Platform

/EINPresswire.com/ Mount Joy Wire President Tom Duff expresses his concerns about the future of American industry and how the VoterVoice platform has allowed him to connect directly with lawmakers on the issues.

In a recent meeting of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, CEO and President of Lancaster County-based Mount Joy Wire Tom Duff shared his thoughts about the Chamber's new implementation of the VoterVoice citizen outreach platform and how it has helped bridge the gap between businesses and the government that serves them.

Duff begins by describing how lack of action on both a state and federal level has led the internationally known spring wire manufacturer to put plans for plant expansion (and likewise job creation) on hold. He states:

“The largest obstacle for the past 18 months has been the uncertainty from Washington on many topics which will directly affect my costs, profit margin and ability to expand. … in the end [our company] put expansion of plant or people on hold. We do not know the rules we may need to comply with, or the related costs.”

Focusing on the uncertainties that compelled the company to defer any major changes, he then explains the sense of duty he had as a local business leader to share these concerns with elected officials:

“Without a clear direction from our government, it delays expansion and job growth, ultimately, making us lose jobs to overseas markets and destroying our chances for any real economic upturn.”

Duff then goes on to explain how the “direct access to those legislators [he] wanted to connect with” provided by the VoterVoice platform has greatly improved his sense of connection with the lawmakers in charge of the issues that effect his company the most.

He talks of how the platform has provided a simple means for a business owner, or any member of the voting population, to reach out directly to the lawmakers. Duff urges participants to “check out VoterVoice and begin forming a relationship with [the] delegation” directly.

Then, Duff passes the discussion to PA State Senator Lloyd Smucker who maintains the sentiment, expressing his understanding the Mount Joy Wire is not alone in its concerns and noting that having citizens' feedback is the only way lawmakers can “ensure [they're] advocating in [the citizens'] best interest” - this is exactly the aim of the VoterVoice platform.
