Florida attorney general, HHS and DOJ officials to discuss health care fraud at ABA conference

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 9, 2013 — Pam Bondi, attorney general of Florida, and Gregory E. Demske, general counsel of the Office of Counsel to the Inspector General at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will deliver remarks at the 23rd Annual National Institute on Health Care Fraud hosted by the American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section May 15-17 at Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach in Miami Beach, Fla.

Legal experts, including representatives from HHS and the U.S. Department of Justice, will weigh in on new developments, compliance and enforcement of the False Claims Act as well as Medicaid, pharmaceutical and device fraud.

Program highlights include:

“Government Enforcement Panel” — DOJ and HHS officials will discuss criminal and civil liability for health care fraud and recent enforcement actions and future initiatives.
