Women: Special Advisor for Children's Issues Travels to the Philippines and Hong Kong

Special Advisor for Children’s Issues, Ambassador Susan Jacobs, will be traveling to the Philippines and Hong Kong, April 22–24.

While in the Philippines, Special Advisor Jacobs will participate in an Adoptions Workshop with Department and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services staff from embassies and offices throughout the East Asia and Pacific region. She will also meet with Philippine government officials to discuss international children’s issues.

In Hong Kong, the Special Advisor will visit the newly opened Asia Pacific Regional Office of the Hague Conference on Private International Law. She will also meet with government officials to discuss cooperative measures to encourage more countries in the region to join and successfully implement the Hague Abduction and Adoption Conventions.
