Union Station Commits to 3 years of 100% Wind Energy

Union Station in Washington D.C. has entered into an agreement with Washington Gas Energy Services (WGES) to use 100% renewable energy for the next three years; Union Station was previously purchasing 50 renewable energy from WGES. The station uses approximately 18,943,964 kilowatt-hours (kWh) each year to fuel services for its 37,000,000 annual visitors. WGES is providing the electricity through its CleanSteps WindPower program, one of three renewable energy programs the retailer offers. The electricity is primarily generated from regional wind farms in Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
