His Holiness the Dalai Lama Arrives in Bolzano, South Tyrol

Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy - 9th April 2013 - After a comfortable flight from India, His Holiness the Dalai Lama stopped briefly in Munich Airport, where he was received by a representative of the local Indian Consulate.
Ms Irmtraut Wager, the 93 year old who has worked long and hard to support the education of Tibetan children in exile, was also there to meet him. His Holiness remarked that she has probably helped 20,000 Tibetan children.
He changed planes for the short flight over the Alps to the province of South Tyrol in northern Italy. He was met at Bolzano airport by his old friend President Luis Durnwalder and Guenther Cologna of the European Academy, who escorted him to his hotel. Tibetans were there on the steps to offer a traditional welcome.
