The film will screen April 27 in Tucson, Ariz. For complete festival information, visit http://www.filmfestivalarizona.com/index.php
The official selection is the first for "House of Good and Evil," which is beginning its campaign on the independent film festival circuit.
Renowned cinematographer David Mun (The Road to Freedom) directed the film. From writer-producer Blu de Golyer, the story follows a young couple who move from the fast paced life of Baltimore to an isolated home nestled deep in the woods of Appalachia in a last-chance effort to save their deteriorating marriage. They quickly find out extraordinary evil has followed them to their new address.
“We made a high quality, thought-provoking thriller,” de Golyer said. “Like many independent filmmakers, we overcame many production challenges and we’re excited to debut in Arizona.”
Rachel Marie Lewis, who burst onto the scene in 2012 for her leading role in the eight-time indie award nominee Transatlantic Coffee, stars as Maggie Conley. Christian Oliver (The Good German, Speed Racer) stars opposite Lewis as Chris Conley. He also produced the film with de Golyer and Mark Rickard.
“It’s a psychological roller coaster,” Lewis said. “It was more emotionally draining than anything I’ve worked on. It’s eerie and the kind of movie that you need to watch twice. It’s definitely something that’s going to have its surprises.”
Oliver said, “We always approached it as a tragic love story. It’s a psychological thriller that is a reflection of the good and evil in all of us. Maggie and Chris are yearning for love and recognition that we all essentially look for.”
Co-starring are Marietta Marich (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Jordan Rhodes (All the King’s Men), Rob Neukirch (One Night at McCool’s) and Bo Keister (Remember the Titans).
Using a 1914 Presbyterian boarding school, "House of Good and Evil" was shot on location in beautiful Floyd County, Va.

Producers Blu de Golyer and Mark Rickard assembled an extraordinary ensemble cast for the eerie, Hitchcockian psychological thriller done in the vein of The Shining. Starring are Rachel Marie Lewis, Christian Oliver, Marietta Marich, Jordan Rhodes, Rob Neukirch and Bo Keister. David Mun makes his directorial debut.
