InterContinental Miami Commits to Purchasing 16,000 MWh of Renewables
The InterContinental Miami Hotel has recently committed to purchasing approximately 16,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable energy. This purchase has earned the hotel a spot on the EPA's 100% Green Power Users list for the second year in a row. The EPA's list recognizes over 1,600 partners that are using green power to meet 100 percent of their organization-wide electricity use. The luxury hotel is working with Greenlight Energy to obtain the substantial amount of wind-generated offsets. Greenlight Energy is a New York based company, sourcing its Green-e certified renewable energy certificates from nationwide wind farms.
