Vice President Biden joined Deputy National Security Advisor Blinken’s meeting with Iraqi National Security Advisor Faleh al-Fayyad. The Vice President expressed the United States’ deep and enduring commitment to the U.S. partnership with Iraq under the U.S.-Iraq Strategic Framework Agreement. The discussion focused on regional developments and the shared U.S. and Iraqi interest in peace and security in the region. This meeting was the latest in a regular and intensive series of consultations between the United States and Iraq on issues of mutual strategic importance. Vice President Biden, Deputy NSA Blinken, and NSA Fayyad also agreed that the coming year would provide many opportunities to broaden and deepen U.S. and Iraqi cooperation.
