The UK Offshore Operators Association (UKOOA) has announced the appointment of its Executive Officers for 1999 with Bob Connon, Managing Director of Chevron UK Ltd, elected as President for the forthcoming year.
UKOOAs Executive Officers for 1999 are:

Vice President:
Mr Francis Gugen, Managing Director, Amerada Hess Ltd
Vice President:
Mr Mark Hope, Technical Director, Enterprise Oil plc
Honorary Secretary:
Mr Pierre Godec, Managing Director, Elf Exploration UK plc
Honorary Treasurer:
Mr Alan Jones, Director and General Manager,
BP Exploration Operating Company Ltd
Mr Connon said: UKOOA is vital to the industrys future wellbeing and health as it is important that North Sea operators work together to achieve optimum efficiency during these very difficult times. A key element of my role will be to ensure that members get full value from UKOOA and understand the benefits that the organisation provides.
Last year we made considerable progress as an Industry in a number of areas. We improved Governments understanding of the contribution we make to the UK economy and to society in general during the review of the fiscal regime.
We also saw the publication of the Industrys first Environment Report which was a reflection of Industrys commitment to playing a leading and constructive role in the environmental debate.
It will be a major challenge for us to build on these and other achievements at a time of historically low oil prices but one that I am sure this Industry is well able to rise to.
