Norman Chambers to Speak at Next UKOOA Energy Breakfast

Norman Chambers, President of Halliburton Energy

Development, will be the guest speaker at the next UK Offshore Operators Associations (UKOOA) Energy Breakfast meeting on Tuesday, 18th May in Aberdeen at the Marcliffe at Pitfodels Hotel.

Titled Prospering in a Low Oil Price Environment, Norman Chambers presentation will offer the perspective of a global contractor, showing how the UK fits into his companys business strategy plans and exploring the relationships between contractors and operators.

We are delighted to have a speaker of such high calibre as Norman Chambers at our second breakfast briefing, said Dr John Wils, UKOOAs Director of Operational and Technical Affairs. He combines a genuinely international insight with an in-depth understanding of how the Industry operates in the North Sea.

The oil price may have rebounded recently in response to OPEC production cuts but high lifting costs in the North Sea still mean that the overriding issue for the Industry remains our ability to compete with other oil producing countries for investment and technology export opportunities. Norman Chambers will outline in his presentation his observations on the strategies businesses in the North East might want to adopt.

Now based in Houston, Norman Chambers spent 20 years in the UK oil and gas industry, holding a number of senior management positions.

UKOOAs first Energy Breakfast meeting, held in March, attracted an audience of over 120 from the local business community, including senior industry figures, representatives from the financial services, research analysts and training organisations, as well as several local MPs.

The meetings were launched to provide a regular forum for businesses in the North East to exchange views on the issues facing the offshore UK Oil and Gas Industry, which is a key driver of the local economy.
