- The Oil & Gas UK Award for Supply Chain Professional Development, which recognises the outstanding commitment made by an organisation to the professional development of its supply chain practitioners.
Malcolm Webb, chief executive of Oil & Gas UK said: "Our two new supply chain awards recognise the significance of the £17 billion world-class supply chain that has developed during four decades of production on the UK continental shelf (UKCS). A wealth of technology and expertise has been established in the UKs oil and gas supply chain and it generates over £12 billion a year supporting the UKs oil and gas production. It is time that we recognise the outstanding achievements of our supply chain, which, in a climate of high operating costs, is constantly striving to increase business efficiency."
The closing date for entries is 4 August and the winners will be announced at the Oil & Gas UK Awards dinner on 12 November 2008. All winners will receive a specially commissioned glass trophy, presented by secretary of state the Rt. Hon. John Hutton MP in front of an audience of leading industry figures. In addition, winners in the individual category will each be presented with a cheque for £500.
