APPOINTMENTS MADE AT OIL & GAS UK TO REPLACE HSE DIRECTOR
Chris Allen is to leave Oil & Gas UK at the end of April to take up a new role with Petrofac as director of health, safety, security, environment and integrity assurance (HSSEIA) for the group. Chris originally joined the UK Offshore Operators Association (UKOOA) in January 2004 as its director of health, safety, social and environment and continued in that post through its transition to Oil & Gas UK in April 2007.
Oil & Gas UK chief executive, Malcolm Webb, said: "Over the last five years, Chris has played a pivotal role in promoting improvements in the industrys performance in safety and the environment, while at the same time defending the sectors competitiveness in the face of increasing regulation. Chris is highly respected throughout the industry and we wish him every success in his new job."
The senior health, safety and environment policy role at Oil & Gas UK will now be split in two and filled by internal promotions. Robert Paterson, who joined the Association from the Health and Safety Executive in 2007 as safety issues manager, will take over as health and safety policy director, while Mick Borwell who has been with the organisation since September 2001 will assume the role of environment policy director.
