The 2014 Cayman and Cayman S were announced alongside the 2014 911 Carrera.
The new Cayman is built to ride lower, with a longer body and lighter build that aims to turn heads with a unique design while also offering up a faster sports car thanks to an improved engine design.
Experts are predicting that this new two-door sports car will deliver an enhanced driving experience thanks to a longer wheelbase and track, and although the Cayman is set to be a mid-engine vehicle, Porsche has assured drivers that there are two engine options that will be available that deliver more power and improved fuel-efficiency than previous models.
The standard engine is a 2.7L flat six-cylinder model capable of 275 hp with the ability to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.1 seconds when matched with the Sport Chrono package.
Drivers of the Cayman S will be treated with a 3.4L six-cylinder engine that puts out 325 hp and will hit that 60 miles per hour mark in merely 4.4 seconds with the Sport Chrono package equipped.
Both vehicles feature a rear engine, mounted just in front of the rear axle.
