CHAIRMAN OF IBERDROLA VISITS SPANISH NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

Ignacio Galán, Chairman of IBERDROLA, main sponsor of the Spanish National Football Team, congratulated the coach and members of the national team in Kiev today for their brilliant qualification for the final of the European Championship in Poland and the Ukraine, to be held tomorrow in the Ukrainian capital.
Mr. Galán, who was also there to encourage the Spanish players at their base in Potchefstroom during the last World Cup in South Africa, spoke on behalf of all those that make up IBERDROLA to express the company's most sincere congratulations on having qualified for the second time in a row for a European Championship final.
The Chairman of IBERDROLA explained that the company was proud to be supporting a national team and a set of players that are Spain's best ambassadors abroad and drew attention to the fact that quality, teamwork, effort and sacrifice were behind the great success of the Spanish National Football Team in recent years.
He went on to say that IBERDROLA identifies with these values and with a group of players facing the challenge of making history by winning this European Championship, which would make them the first team ever to win three major tournaments in a row, following its victories in the European Championship held in Austria and Switzerland and the South African World Cup, confirming the Spanish expression "no hay dos sin tres" (there's no two without three).
Ignacio Galán also pointed out that the style of play of the national team is its main hallmark and also its most significant competitive advantage. "The team is admired all over the world because of the universal appreciation for the values it transmits: talent, creativity, perseverance, quality and collective solidarity". Mr. Galán ended by wishing Spain the best of luck for the final against Italy the following day: “Good luck, champions!”.
