Fundación IBERDROLA has concluded its second call for applications for its Energy for Research aid programme, which aims to contribute to the development of young researchers in the area of energy and move towards a sustainable energy model that meets the needs of society and contributes to the protection of the environment and the fight against climate change.

The Foundation has granted scholarships to 15 young researchers who are carrying out or are wishing to conduct projects in the following areas: renewable energy sources, sustainable energy system, environment and biodiversity, clean combustion technologies and emissions management, energy efficiency, energy storage, electric vehicle and smart distribution grids.

Fundación IBERDROLA has selected the beneficiaries from among the 352 applications received based on their student's record and experience, the research team's experience, the innovative nature of the project, its scientific-technical quality, and its viability.

The young researchers who have obtained these scholarships will carry out their work at Spanish universities or research centres and will receive from the Foundation a maximum amount of 20,000 euros per project for a one-year period.

The final list of selected applicants is already available on the website www.fundacioniberdrola.org.

The Energy for Research grant programme represents a further step by Fundación IBERDROLA in its bid to boost the transformation of the energy model through technological development, the creation and transmission of knowledge, and support to research. Likewise, it is part of the Foundation's commitment to strengthening relations between the corporate sector and the research community.
