EU funding for the Libertas cultural hub

SLOVENIA, March 3 - As part of the EU co-funded project, Urban Municipality of Koper will renovate the former salt warehouse at the Izolska vrata gate – Libertas in Koper. The project will revitalise 2,788.9 square metres of renovated and previously underused space, thus contributing to the reconstruction of a cultural monument of local importance located next to the old town centre. With the implementation of the project, the social aspect of the use of the space will be improved. The area will become dynamic, offering a rich programme, socially vibrant, safer and more pleasant. with new facilities and cultural content, also attracting multiple visits of residents as well as visitors to Koper.

The Libertas cultural hub project is part of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and is implemented under priority Sustainable development of local areas and pursues specific objective Fostering the integrated and inclusive social, economic and environmental development, culture, natural heritage, sustainable tourism, and security in urban areas.

The European Regional Development Fund will contribute 1,738,281.79 euros for the project, which is worth 6,220,012.22 euros.
