Kyocera Corporation (President: Tetsuo Kuba) announced that it has succeeded in reducing the power consumption of PHS handsets during voice calls by approximately 20% compared to previous models. With Kyocera's proprietary technology, the company's three new handsets realize continuous talk times of approximately 11 hours *1 the longest among PHS phones marketed in Japan *2 . Kyocera announced three new models using this technology: WX01K, a standard clamshell style handset with enhanced functions; Sweetia (WX02K), a straight-type handset for young women who prefer their phones with cute designs; and LIBERIO (WX03K), featuring a simple, high-quality design. These models meet the needs of users of various ages and lifestyles offering PHS communications to a wide range of people.

The three new models realize continuous talk times of approximately 11 hours, which enables longer calls without the need to worry about battery levels. Furthermore, these models are equipped with a noise reduction function to reduce background noise and a diversity antenna, featuring stable radio wave sensitivity to allow clear sound during calls, which provides more stable calls for users who subscribe to WILLCOM service plans such as the 24-hour flat-rate or the anybody flat-rate plans.
The new handsets are part of the lineup announced on September 21 by WILLCOM, Inc. and WILLCOM OKINAWA, Inc. The WX01K is set to launch on October 6, 2011, while the Sweetia and LIBERIO are planned for release in mid-November 2011.
