DesAutels Moving to Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement

Date: 8/12/2011

From Michele DesAutels: August 12, 2011 is a bittersweet moment in my life as it is my last day at the Department of Energy and as Wind Powering America's national coordinator. I start on Monday, August 15 at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement (BOEMRE) in Herndon, Virginia. One of my responsibilities is stakeholder engagement, so I won't be far away. I am confident I will cross paths with many of you in the future. I have been very, very lucky to work with all of you, and I will continue to support the efforts of the Wind Powering America network as I move on to the next phase of my federal career. I applaud you as you work to remove barriers to responsible deployment of wind in the states and regions.

The Wind Program has not identified a new WPA national coordinator but hopes to do so shortly. Please stay tuned for more information. In the mean time, feel free to contact Ian Baring-Gould (NREL) or Brian Connors (DOE) with any questions or concerns.
