Kyocera Corporation (President: Tetsuo Kuba) announced the launch of the K010 “Simple Mobile Phone,” a new waterproof* and dirt-resistant** mobile phone for the au network. The handset has been made even more convenient to use with a new automatic standby screen photo setting feature, the popular pedometer function for daily health maintenance, and expanded “one-touch key” capability for often used features.

A clamshell style phone with a rounded design that fits well in the hand, the K010 is part of KDDI Corporation's new handset lineup, launched on May 17.

With a focus on usability and comprehensibility, the launch of the K010 is the latest in the Simple Mobile Phone series — which Kyocera has developed to meet the varying needs of its customers. While staying true to the basic concept of the Simple Mobile Phone series — an easy to operate, easy to understand mobile phone — Kyocera has further enhanced and made more convenient the most used functions including the camera.

The handset comes equipped with a large, easy to view 3.0 inch QVGA LCD main display screen. Also, it includes popular functions allowing for guided navigation by illuminated keys, large font sizes, and diverse functions to make voice quality more clear.

Kyocera recommends the K010 for people who want a mobile phone that is easy and convenient to use.
