Western Union Ups Dividend, Buyback Authorization
December 10, 2009 (FinancialWire) — The Western Union Co.’s (NYSE: WU) board of directors has declared an increase in the company’s dividend, to $0.06 per common share paid quarterly, and authorized a new $1 billion share repurchase authorization. The quarterly dividend represents the equivalent of $0.24 annually, an increase from the previous annual dividend of $0.04 per common share.
The board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.06 per common share, payable December 30, 2009 to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 21, 2009. The new $1 billion, three year share repurchase authorization is effective as of January 1, 2010.
