U.S. Kids Golf Names The Country Club of St. Albans Director of Instruction Rob Sedorcek a 2015 Top 50 Teacher

35-Year Veteran Teacher Is the Only Missouri Instructor Honored in the Class of 2015

/EINPresswire.com/ -- ST, ALBANS, MO--(Marketwired - January 11, 2016) - The Country Club of St. Albans and U.S. Kids Golf announced that The Country Club of St. Albans Director of Instruction Rob Sedorcek has been named a Top 50 Teacher for 2015. The U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Teacher Award honors golf professionals in North America and around the world who have successfully developed youth golf programs in their communities. U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 instructors have also been successful in engaging and retaining young golfers in the game.

"Golf has been very good to me," said Sedorcek. "Since I started as a young pro more than 35 years ago, I've been teaching kids. To be able to give back and to see growth in the kids I teach and in the game I love is fantastic."

Sedorcek has been the Director of Instruction at The Country Club of St. Albans for more than 10 years. He has previously been named Gateway PGA Teacher of the Year (2011) and Golf Digest "Best in the State" (2015).

"We are very fortunate to have a golf instructor with Rob's background and ability here in the St. Louis area," said Joe Schwent, Director of Golf Operations at The Country Club of St. Albans. "Rob is a tremendous advocate for the game of golf and he is helping foster the next generation of golfers right here at The Country Club of St. Albans."

Sedorcek has trained more than 1,000 kids and more than 2,000 adults, including several who have gone on to play in the U.S. Open, The Masters and on the Web.com and Mini Tour. He's also worked with celebrities including Bobby Knight and Jack Buck. Sedorcek credits some of his success to the world-class practice facilities and courses at The Country Club of St. Albans.

"From putting greens large enough to teach and a short game area designed for chipping, pitching and wedge shots to St. Albans unique driving range with two different hitting areas, kids and adults are able to hit all aspects of the game," said Sedorcek. "When you pair those practice facilities with two of the top golf courses in Missouri, highlighting zoysia and bent grasses, it's a winning combination for young golfers who want to learn, practice and play the game."

The Top 50 Kids Teacher Awards will be presented this month during a special ceremony at the PGA show in Orlando, Florida.
