Actress Shiva Negar will play the role of Sanaa Mustafa in the upcoming television series "The Art of More," which began shooting earlier this month.

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, May 16, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Actress Shiva Negar will play the recurring role of Sanaa Mustafa in the upcoming television series "The Art of More."

The series which began shooting in Montreal earlier this month is being produced by Sony's Crackle. In "The Art of More," Shiva Negar will act alongside two-time Golden Globe nominated actor Dennis Quaid ("Movie 43," "The Rookie") and Kate Bosworth ("Still Alice," "Blue Crush").

The hour-long drama, which will take viewers inside the cutthroat world of high profile auction houses, is slated to premiere this winter.

Shiva Negar says, "I'm very excited to be a part of this show. I knew some of these talented individuals by name of course, and it's really great to be able to meet and work with them on set!"

Born in Iran, Negar moved to Canada in her youth where her ethnically ambiguous beauty and unparalleled talents have made her a highly sought after actress on the silver screen.

Her performance in the starring role of Alyssa in the film "Loraine" received international attention and garnered her a Best Actress nomination, as well as the Distinctive Achievement Award at the Wild Rose International Film Festival in 2013.

The film brings to light the traumatic effects of bullying through the eyes of a young boy named Jake who is teased for being different. As his peers repeatedly victimize him with their harsh words and actions, Jake finds comfort in his relationship with his popular high school cousin Alyssa (Shiva Negar) who treats him with love and respect.

Negar starred alongside Katie Buitendyk in the film, who is known for her roles in the films "Black to White," "Silent Retreat," "Time Capsules," "Last Night's Party" and "Destination: Rad City," as well as the television shows "Reign," "Body Language," and "Someone Not There."

"It’s very rare that one has the opportunity to work with an individual as talented as Shiva Negar. In addition to her natural talent and acting acumen, her willingness to take on set direction, combined with her innate ability to improvise and think on her feet, make her the type of actress every filmmaker dreams of working with," says Daniel Sarkissian, the director behind the film "Loraine."

He adds, "In total, 'Loraine' won 5 awards in the United States, due largely in part to Shiva’s powerful on screen presence. As an actress who has appeared in everything from feature length films, to various TV series that have been distributed all across North America, Shiva is ready to take her career to the next level and become a star; I look forward, with great anticipation, to seeing her future success."

In the past couple of years Shiva Negar has played several leading roles on the television shows "My Babysitter's A Vampire," "24 Hour Rental," "Murdoch Mysteries," "Hemlock Grove," "Alphas," "Combat Hospital" and "Covert Affairs."

On the Disney Channel's international hit series "My Babysitter's A Vampire" Negar played the critical role of an evil sun queen in disguise as a substitute teacher in the second season of the series.

Negar recalls, "This was one of the most fun sets I have worked on. My character’s name was Lucia, she was the evil supernatural Sun Queen who had been summoned and was on a mission to destroy and “return the world to endless light” by bringing back her Sun King."

Shiva Negar also recently wrapped production on the films "Street Meet," "Where Love Takes You," "Little White Lines" and "Let's Rap."

In "Where Love Takes You," which is currently in post-production, Negar plays the starring role of Juliette, a 28-year-old hedge fund manager. After a 20-year-old pre-med student named Alex comes to Juliette's rescue during a fight with her current lover, Alex and Juliette find themselves in a passionate love affair that will leave one of them forever changed.

Marcel Jones, co-producer of "Where Love Takes You," says, "Shiva has this truly exceptional quality and skill where she’s able to portray both the victim and the antagonist roles and transform between the two. We were looking for that mysterious character to capture our audience and Shiva nailed that! She was hands down one of the most talented actors I've had the opportunity to work with. When the camera is rolling, you can't take your eyes off her. She's very creative and gifted and I look forward to working with her again. "

Negar's undeniable beauty and sassy mysterious disposition have definitely equipped her to play the perpetual heartbreaker. In Jacob Michael Hanania's film "Street Meet" Negar took on the role of Jasmine, the first woman to break the heart of Aaron (Matt Murray) and the one who exposes him to the harsh truth that finding love in today's world is not as easy as he thought.

The film, which finished shooting earlier this year, has already been chosen as an Official Selection of the Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival. Negar stars alongside multi-award winning actress Katie Boland in the film, who is known for her roles in the films "The Master," "Sex After Kids," "Fall," "Ferocious," "Daydream Nation" and others.

Through Shiva Negar's body of work it is clear that the actress has the extraordinary capacity to transition between a diverse range of characters with ease, a valuable asset that will keep her working in the entertainment industry for years to come.
