Qvale relocates Land Rover dealership to new Jaguar site at 4040 Stevens Creek Blvd in San Jose. Multi Million dollar renovation and parking structure on deck.

-- MD Johnson, Inc. announces the completion of the acquisition of San Jose British Motors from long time San Jose California dealer Norm Tompkins. MD Johnson Inc advised Qvale on the acquisition of the Jaguar franchise from Tompkins. Concurrent with the closing of the acquisition, which was executed by MD Johnson Inc staff, Qvale relocated the Land Rover dealership to the Jaguar site at 4040 Stevens Creek Boulevard. The dealerships are now knows=n as Jaguar San Jose www.jaguarsanjose.com and Land Rover San Jose www.landroversj.com. No sales price was disclosed. Qvale will undertake a multi- million dollar renovation of the dealership buildings as well as the construction of a parking structure to securely hold up to 600 retail and customer vehicles. The renovations as well as the parking structure are expected to be completed within 18 months.

Tompkins is a long time San Jose fixture in the automotive industry with a career spanning from the 60’s. Kjell Qvale, father of Bruce Qvale invested with Tompkins in the early 60’s, helping Tompkins get into the automobile business as an owner. The elder Qvale passed away recently and is succeeded in business by his son Bruce. Qvale owns Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships in California, a GMC Cadillac Buick dealership in Midland Texas also purchased from MD Johnson Inc as well as dealerships in Livermore CA, Oakland CA, and is one of the largest Audi retailers in the US in Coral Springs with a new Audi dealership opening in Ft Lauderdale Florida.
