I feel a special connection to those who serve and protect; that’s why I work to serve and protect them in their real estate dealings.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, USA, April 15, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Mark “IZZY” Israelitt was destined to serve in the U.S. Military. The son of a career military officer, Izzy was born at Wiesbaden Air Base, Germany, on March 9th, 1962. After several moves, his family relocated to the Washington D.C. area in 1968.

According to Izzy, “As a ‘military brat,’ I was fortunate to visit most of our National Monuments and landmarks around the D.C. area; including the White House, Congress, Supreme Court, Smithsonian Institute, and Arlington National Cemetery. I repeatedly watched Air Force One take-off and land at Andrews Air Force Base. All of the symbolism I was exposed to early on instilled a deep sense of appreciation in me for the sacrifices of those who’ve served our country and protected our values, freedoms and American way of life. It inspired a deep sense of patriotism in me and a desire to also serve my country in some way.”

In 1977, when his father was reassigned to Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio, Izzy attended Beavercreek High School, where he was awarded an Air Force ROTC Scholarship to attend college. He selected the University of Cincinnati. On top of a great education, the City of Cincinnati also provided great cultural opportunities, including: museums, entertainment, concerts and professional football and baseball. He remembers, “Every year, we used to skip classes and attend Cincinnati Red’s baseball games on opening day. We enjoyed great concerts too, including Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Journey, Santana, and other top performers.”

Mark graduated college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a commission into the Air Force, in June 1984. He says, “One of my fondest memories is when my father, a retired Colonel, swore me in to the Air Force as a brand new Second Lieutenant at my commissioning ceremony. As fate would have it, I eventually commissioned my own son as a Second Lieutenant,” extending a family tradition of military service for three generations.

Upon initial entry on active duty, Izzy departed to report to his first duty station on his birthday in 1985. After completing his journey to Mather Air Force Base, in Sacramento, California, he attended Undergraduate Navigator Training. Upon graduation, he was awarded his “Navigator Wings,” completed land and water survival training courses, and initial C-130 qualification training. His initial operational flying assignment was flying WC-130 aircraft with the “Hurricane Hunters,” based out of Keesler AFB, in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Izzy says, “I was extremely fortunate to receive my first choice of aircraft assignment, as I wanted to travel the world and do something different, fun and exciting.” The Hurricane Hunters’ primary mission was to fly investigative missions into tropical disturbances and to collect and report weather data on storms and hurricanes to the National Hurricane Center. The Hurricane Center was responsible to forecast where such weather systems might travel and hit landfall, to prepare for severe weather and storm evacuations. “Our missions frequently lasted more than twelve hours. We pushed the aircraft to the limit through heavy rain, lightning, turbulence and associated storm activity. While exciting, it was incredibly rewarding to know that we were serving and protecting people and property from disaster.”

In May of 2005, with a promotion to the rank of full Colonel, Izzy was re-assigned as a member of the ‘Air Staff’ and to a position as Director of the U. S. Air Force Liaison Office to the Department of Energy (USAFLO). However, this position included a duty location in Las Vegas, Nevada. As the USAFLO Director, he was intimately involved in a variety of different programs between the Air Force, Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration, and other military branches. Also included were other federal and state government agencies with interests and activities at the DOE’s Nevada Test Site (re-designated as the Nevada National Security Site), and the USAF’s Nevada Test & Training Range (NTTR) and Tonopah Test Range (TTR).

His last day in uniform was on his birthday, March 9th, 2011, and his first day of retirement began on May 1st, 2011. Izzy enjoyed the pleasure of working with members of each branch of the U.S. military, agencies of Federal and State governments, as well as military officials and dignitaries from foreign countries.

Izzy’s travels took him through each of the 50 States and nearly every U.S. territory. His overseas travels include Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Pacific Rim, and Russia. He enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, seeing different cultures and experiencing worldwide hospitality. He appreciates world-class hotels, museums, sporting events, concerts, entertainment, great dining, and everything the good life has to offer. So he decided to remain in the Las Vegas area to enjoy the great weather, world-class entertainment, dining and shopping. Other great benefits include no state income taxes and proximity to everything Southern California also offers.

Because of his desire to continue being of service, it was a natural progression for Izzy to pursue a Real Estate career, obtain his REALTOR® license and subsequently earn his Military Relocation Professional (MRP) Certification. He states, “Everyone needs a place to live; and for most of us, a home is our biggest investment. I feel a special connection to those who serve and protect; that’s why I work to serve and protect them in their real estate dealings. Due to frequent reassignments, service members are often under the gun and vulnerable to short-notice PCS orders. So, I work hard to make sure they’re truly taken care of—and not taken advantage of. I consider it my duty to protect service members, veterans and their families.”

Izzy maintains a special Military/Veteran program in which he waives broker fees and extends rebates towards qualified closing costs. He offers to match (or beat) any qualifying competitor’s military affinity program.
