“Metronome”, the Compelling Search for the Mysterious Olivia

DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, February 20, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Most people think that performance art is synonymous with Hollywood and Broadway. And while that branding is well-earned, the Dallas and Fort Worth area has a tremendous amount of talented artists and worthy film projects. One such artist is Gabe Saenz who is the actor, writer and producer of a web-series titled “Metronome”. The Hispanic American, who was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has spent the last six years building his resume and honing his craft in Dallas. This time has taught Gabe that “the value of art is in your willingness to stare down the risk and to embrace the void of possible failure.” Gabe started writing “Metronome” in early 2014 and he took the risk of making his work a reality. His extensive experience is apparent as Gabe’s work on the “Metronome” project has been very professional and polished.

“Metronome”, which was co-produced by Zack Ambold, is preparing to produce chapters two and three of the series. The “Metronome” series will have a total of five chapters in all. This may expand to an even greater story if it remains successful. The story revolving around “Metronome” is both mysterious and riveting. Gabe plays the lead character of Dr. Evans who uses hypnosis to help his patients work through their psychological health issues. These patients are often badly damaged and in real need of assistance. Foreshadowing the events to follow, the very beginning of the “Metronome” series shows a quote from C.G. Jung. “The pendulum of the mind oscillates between sense and nonsense, not between right and wrong.”

Kelsey Deanne is a very talented actress who plays the female lead character of Olivia Adams. Olivia is a patient who surprises Dr. Evans with an unscheduled first time visit after the doctor’s office closes. Against his better judgment Dr. Evans decides to try to help the mysterious woman when she shows obvious signs of distress and little intention to leave. The dialogue between the two characters shows a real complexity in both the doctor and the patient. This deep characterization is made possible by quality acting. Kelsey Deanne’s portrayal of Olivia Adams is very convincing. After a hypnosis therapy session which can best be described as chaotic, the audience learns that something very bad may have happened to Olivia. As she explains that she has lost five days of her immediate memory Olivia appears to be traumatized. She is disturbed prior to experiencing hypnosis, even displaying a strange new tattoo on the side of her neck which she does not remember getting. Events take a strange turn after Olivia follows Dr. Evans words to close her eyes and follow his voice. Olivia is frightened to the point of being terrified and almost seems possessed by her experiences. While being under she utters the riddle “they will all seek what no man can understand.” Upon waking up Olivia omits a mysterious key which holds a possible clue to her unexplained experience. Olivia disappears the next day. Dr. Evans slowly becomes obsessed as to the location of Olivia.

As intense as the first chapter is, it has only set the stage. The following events will become even crazier in the next chapter. The audience has been left with many more questions than answers. Questions such as: what happened to Olivia, what is the significance of the key and most importantly where is Olivia?

This mysterious new series, featuring its wealth of immensely creative Dallas and Fort Worth talent, deserves to have its story told. In order to cover the expenses for chapters two and three an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign has been set into motion until March 8th. In fact a link for chapter one of “Metronome” has been made available on their Indiegogo webpage. Everyone is encouraged to watch and enjoy the first installment. For a pledge of 35 dollars those who make a crowdfunding donation will receive an advanced screening of both the trailer and new chapters a week before launch. In addition funders will receive a film poster and have their names listed in the credits. At higher funding levels donors will have a chance to make an appearance in either chapter two or three and earn an IMDb credit.
