EBOLA Pushes Ultimate 4X4 Ambulance into Development
Extreme vehicle specialist Howe and Howe Technologies develop indestructible yet inexpensive solution for hard to reach Ebola patients in Africa.
WATERBORO , MAINE, USA, October 8, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Howe and Howe Technologies has recently fielded multiple request from African sources for an extreme all terrain 4X4 ambulance. With years of experience in extreme vehicle platform development for the US Army, Howe and Howe Technologies have designed and developed a solution that will allow doctors and first responders better access to Ebola stricken patients in the most remote areas of Africa. With this unprecedented off-road capability on under developed roads, the Bulldog 4X4 EMR (Extreme Medical Response 4X4) will also enable patients better access to health centers and hospitals. While most 4X4 ambulances are limited by 33” tires and a ground clearance of less than 10”, the stock Bulldog is massive with 54” tires at just under 24” of ground clearance. The Bulldog modifications also include a lifted transfer case, lifted fuel tanks, custom off-road bumpers, and modified frames for extreme approach and departure angles. Consequently, Bulldog EMR 4x4s are the largest, most capable ambulances allowed on the road. By leveraging in-house technologies previous developed for the 4x4 firefighting Bulldog, Howe and Howe Technologies is able to produce inexpensive Bulldog EMR ambulances with short lead times. In addition, as a ground based rescue responder, the Bulldog EMR may reduce the need for air rescue flights which will ultimately reduce cost further.
Howe and Howe Technologies have allotted a large amount of their factory floor space for Bulldog 4X4 EMR Ambulance production in 2015 and are hopeful these extreme ambulances will help in the war on Ebola by not only giving doctors, hospitals and patients the access their need to each other, but by also reducing the cost of the entire international health issue.
