LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, February 17, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Glip 2 Puts a Stop to “App Hopping” at Work— Peter Pezaris, CEO of Glip, Inc.
Glip’s tight integration between Business Messaging and Project Management
moves beyond single purpose apps
Glip, Inc., the business messaging company, announced today a redesigned version of its application that further enhances functionality, simplicity and ease of use. Glip includes secure group messaging, file sharing, shared calendars, and distributed task management. For teams who value an integrated solution that eliminates the need to hop from one app to the next, Glip offers in stream productivity so you can communicate and get work done at the same time.
Glip 2 brings project management to a new level of simplicity by delivering all the power of a full-featured project management tool into a real-time, chat-based, conversation stream. With version 2, Glip captures more of your daily workflow right in the context of the conversation, making it both more useful and more powerful. In addition to tracking formal projects, ad-hoc tasks can be created as simply as sending a chat message, so nothing will slip through the cracks. Right from the conversation stream, you can create and update tasks, participate in discussion threads around tasks, and even assess the overall progress of the project. All aspects of the project are simplified, from having conversations and video chats around the outstanding tasks to automatically tracking versions of the work produced. With Glip 2 you can easily share files, compose and comment on rich text notes, and initiate video chats, all within the self-organizing, searchable conversation stream.
“Glip 2 is a significant release that improves both the polish of the experience as well as the usefulness of our approach to project management,” said Peter Pezaris, CEO of Glip, Inc. “Glip 2 offers an optimal balance of world-class business messaging and distributed project management, expanding on our vision to tightly integrate productivity apps into the conversation stream. Working in-stream delivers a more engaging, more productive user experience. I believe our users will love these improvements.”
Among the many task management enhancements in Glip 2:
100x improvement in speed when managing large task collections
Tasks can now repeat every day, week, month or year
Project templates simplify and speed up the creation of new projects
Files can be attached to tasks at the time of creation, or as part of a discussion thread as work continues
Tasks can be pasted into the Tasks app in bulk
Tasks can be organized by color, with simple drag and drop tools
User experience improvements in Glip 2 include:
Creating or editing a task, event, link, or object within the system has been simplified and streamlined, with fewer clicks, a more consistent interface, and easier keyboard shortcuts
The new object details view is easier to use and more comprehensive, providing a full audit trail and threaded conversation history of any post or object shared in Glip
A new toolbar in the object details view allows you to edit, delete, move, share, like and more
Keyboard shortcuts are now more clearly displayed, and available globally within the application
Note creation is simplified using a full-page editor that can be minimized to allow you to shuffle between composing notes and checking messages
Simplified file attachments including drag & drop and one-click paperclip icon
There is now a dedicated button to initiate a video conference right from the conversation stream
Add Files, Notes and Links directly from their respective apps
In addition to these enhancements, Glip 2 allows you to personalize the workspace with your company name and a color theme, display presence indicators within conversations, and color-code teams, projects, tasks and events.
Glip 2 represents a new benchmark for team collaboration, offering both dramatically improved performance and a radically simplified approach to getting teamwork done. Glip 2 includes integrations with the important tools you cannot live without. Glip 2 is both more powerful and more affordable than the array of apps it replaces, allowing your team to focus on what matters.
