ABA Conference Makes the Case for Affordable Housing and Community Development

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 21, 2012 — Experts will discuss tax-credit equity, public housing, and ethics and innovations in the housing and community-development field during the American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law’s 21st Annual Conference May 23 – 25 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Helen Kanovsky, general counsel for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, will provide opening remarks on Thursday, May 24, from 8:30 – 8:45 a.m.

Program highlights include:

“Community Economic Development 101” – Panelists will discuss the history of community economic development, identify its key laws and strategies, and share ideas for earning a living while doing legal work to benefit communities and the people who live and work in them.
