Corinthian Antiques and Reproductions To Go Out of Business and Close

Westbury, Long Island, NY - July 2, 2010 -- Corinthian Antiques and Reproductions in Westbury, Long Island announced they are going out of business and will soon close their doors forever. The business was founded in 1995 by David B. Hall, and has become a destination for discriminating home furnishings shoppers. From their 25,000 square foot showroom, Corinthian, provides customers from around the world unique furnishings while earning a reputation for offering attentive service and outstanding values. As a direct importer of home furnishings, Corinthian was able to offer its clientele outstanding products from Europe and Asia at wholesale container direct pricing. Corinthian recently expanded its offerings and now represents the product lines of various U.S. suppliers which supplement their existing offerings.

"The Corinthian Antiques and Reproductions going-out-of-business total liquidation will begin on July 8th," said David B. Hall owner. Hall went on to say, "We have reductions of up to 75% on every item in the store from such well-known suppliers as Sherrill, Theodore Alexander, Maitland Smith, Sligh, La Barge, and many others. Customers can choose from our unique selections of imported furniture and art objects from Italy and Spain including an enormous assortment of bronze, crystal and alabaster, European style chandeliers. Additionally, we have a vast selection of hand-made oil paintings, inlaid marble table tops and marble sculptures.

We also have hundreds of finely made hand knotted oriental rugs at prices guaranteed to be the lowest on the market. Our 25,000 square foot showroom display and over $4 million inventory will be sold as quickly as possible and at the lowest prices in the store's history." Hall continued, "Every item in this multi-million dollar inventory will be sold, regardless of cost...This is a wall-to-wall total sell-off."

The decision to close the store was made by Hall, who has revealed plans for a major store closing event that will take place in the coming weeks. In announcing the store closing, Hall stated, "The decision to close the store has been a difficult one. My father has been in the Antique and Antique Reproduction business since the early 1970's in Manhattan's wholesale furniture district and I followed in his footsteps. We are a true New York family business. For years, we have offered our clientele which includes designers and knowledgeable retail customers, a wholesale direct source. With the current lease for the showroom expiring, the weakness in the dollar making imports that set us apart from the competition more expensive, I decided that the present model for selling fine quality furniture and accessories was not working. It was impossible to reduce the size of the current space or find a suitable, well priced alternative location to properly serve my clientele. This sale and our special pricing will be our way of saying 'Thanks for the Years of Support" to all of our loyal and regular customers."

Research into the history of the Hall family confirms that members of the Hall family have been direct importers and wholesalers of antiques and antique reproductions for over three decades and are adept in recognizing quality in antiques and antique reproductions. During these years, David Hall traveled extensively around the world in search of quality suppliers to meet their discriminating customers demand for artisan-crafted, high-quality furnishings. The Hall family searched for antiques and fine reproductions and for craftsmen who could carefully replicate the designs of the manufacturers that existed centuries ago.
