SourceForge To Buy Ohloh

mergers_acquisitions_225px-w_bwMay 29, 2009 (FinancialWire) — SourceForge (NASDAQ: LNUX) (Current Market Cap: US$63.54 Mil.) said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ohloh Corp., the privately held owner and operator of Ohloh.net, a directory of open source projects and developers. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The transaction is scheduled to close in early June 2009.

Bellevue, Washington-based Ohloh was founded in 2004. The company’s technology crawls around 3,500 open source forges and gathers data on more than 300,000 open source projects and 300,000 open source developers.

Ohloh also tracks open source activity through community-enabled services on its site and provides data to technology companies.

Mountain View, California-based SourceForge’s operates media and e-commerce web sites that connect technology professionals and enthusiasts. SourceForge’s network of web sites includes SourceForge.net, Slashdot, ThinkGeek and freshmeat.net.
