ConnectSafely and Kik partner up for online safety resources

PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- ConnectSafely is pleased to announce Kik as our newest supporter and partner. Kik is a chat platform that seamlessly connects teens with friends and with the brands, entertainment, games and news they love. The company has more than 300 million registered users and is available in both iOS and Android.

Through our partnership, ConnectSafely will collaborate with Kik to develop resources as part of our successful series of guides for parents and educators. First up will be The Parent’s Guide to Kik, which will help parents better understand the platform and how to help their child use it safely.

“ConnectSafely is very proud to partner with Kik to assure that their users are as safe and secure as possible,” said ConnectSafely CEO Larry Magid. “Maintaining a safe and positive online community is everyone's responsibility and we are pleased that Kik takes these issues seriously and is committed to helping its users make smart decisions in how they use the service.”

“It’s important to us that our users have safe and positive experiences on Kik,” said Christina McDonald, vice president and senior counsel. “To help educate users, we actively encourage discussions between the teens who use our platform and trusted adults, and ConnectSafely is the perfect partner to help us do just that.”
