A new crowd funding campaign has been launched on Kickstarter (www.kickstarter.com/projects/637812885/masterpiece) by Christian Blaha along with Hratch and Vic Karapetian who created the masterpiece along with 4 other sculptors. For many years, people have asked them if there is a decorative piece of the original they could buy for their homes or office. The Kachkar Masterpiece was hand-carved from a single piece of red tuff stone, and now the 3 partners want to celebrate the famous masterpiece and build a 16-inch replica.

Hratch Karapetian, Vic Karapetian, and Christian Blaha have launched the Kickstarter campaign in the hope of raising $45,000 to bring their dreams to life. The money raised will be used to commission professional sculptor Roy W. Butler to create the master replica to scale using modern techniques and to start production of the gallery quality editions. He will use materials that include clay, resin, wax, and woven materials to produce a replica of the Kachkar. Roy W. Butler was chosen for his experience and his reputation. He has been published in various media internationally and commissioned for numerous public, private and government projects. His work has been recognized and archived by the Smithsonian and commissioned for celebrities. One of his famous works is a bronze bust of Mr. Vernon Winfrey, the father of Oprah Winfrey.

Once the replica has been made, it will then be used to make silicone molds to allow for mass production of the Kachkar. More art fans around the world can then enjoy the Kachkar, which can be displayed in pride in their homes, or places of work as well as within schools, for children to appreciate.
