HPV: Are Genital Warts and Pearly Penile Papules the Same?; The CBCD Answers a Survey Question

Genital warts and pearly penile papules are not the same, although they are similar in appearance.

Pearly penile papules are a normal, entirely harmless anatomical variation that cannot be transmitted between individuals.

“Infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV)? We recommend taking Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin.” - Greg Bennett, CBCD

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD)’s December 2015 survey found that 76% of participants could not tell the difference between genital warts and pearly penile papules. The two conditions are not the same, but may have a similar appearance. The University of California at Santa Barbara, notes that “although they are sometimes confused with HPV warts, pearly penile papules are a normal, entirely harmless anatomical variation that cannot be transmitted between individuals. They are not caused by sexual activity or lack of hygiene and they are not infectious or contagious, unlike genital warts. They are not malignant or pre-malignant.” (1)

In contrast, the CDC notes that genital warts are “usually asymptomatic, but depending on the size and anatomic location, they can be painful or pruritic. Genital warts are usually flat, papular, or pedunculated growths on the genital mucosa. Genital warts occur commonly at certain anatomic sites, including around the introitus in women, under the foreskin of the uncircumcised penis, and on the shaft of the circumcised penis. Genital warts can also occur at multiple sites in the anogenital epithelium or within the anogenital tract (e.g., cervix, vagina, urethra, perineum, perianal skin, and scrotum). (2)

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) therefore recommends individuals who may be concerned about an HPV infection, which can cause penile warts and other symptoms, take Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin. The formula of these natural, andtiviral products was shown to reduce symptoms associated with HPV infection in two separate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. Additionally, it was designed to help the immune system target the latent HPV.

The formula of these natural antiviral products was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR formula is effective against the HPV and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the HPV…reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (3) The study authors also wrote that “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (3)

Both products can be ordered online on the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR websites here:

Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.

Note: Novirin has the same formula as Gene-Eden-VIR. However, it contains higher quality and more expensive ingredients.

It is important for the public to understand that “the safest way to protect yourself from getting exposed to HPV or any other STD, is to use safe sex techniques. Abstain from sexual contact with individuals who have anal (or genital) warts. Since many individuals may be unaware that they suffer from this condition, sexual abstinence, condom protection or limiting sexual contact to a single partner will reduce the contagious virus that causes warts. However, using condoms whenever having any kind of intercourse may reduce, but not completely eliminate, the risk of HPV infection, as HPV is spread by skin-to-skin contact and can live in areas not covered by a condom.” (4)

What Current Treatments are Available for HPV infections?

“There are no drugs approved against the HPV. Current treatments include procedures, such as cryotherapy, conization, and the Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP). These procedures use liquid nitrogen, a surgical knife (scalpel), a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser, or electrical current to remove the abnormal growths caused by the HPV. These growths include cells that harbor the active virus. The procedures do not target cells with the latent virus. Since they do not remove the latent virus, these procedures only produce a temporary remission.” (2) In contrast, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR were designed to target the latent HPV, and were shown to reduce HPV symptoms in two separate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines.

The CBCD therefore recommends that individuals infected with the latent HPV take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR.
