FDF supports new GLA Protocol
The FDF has pledged its full support for the refreshed Gangmaster Licensing Authority (GLA) Supplier/Retailer Protocol launched on 16th October by Home Secretary Theresa May.
The Protocol establishes a voluntary information sharing agreement between the GLA and suppliers, retailers and other organisations not specifically covered by the Gangmaster (Licensing) Act 2004. Signatories to the Protocol agree to raise awareness of labour exploitation within the supply chain and share information which helps stop or prevent the abuse of workers.
FDF Employment and Skills Director, Angela Coleshill said,
“We are fully supportive of the Supplier/Retailer Protocol which underlines our members' commitment to stamping out forced labour. The refreshed protocol supports the GLA's move to an intelligence-led approach, which will help hugely in the fight to drive out rogue labour suppliers from the UK market.”
