Aberdeen Breakfast Event to Showcase Dynamic Companies Seizing UK Oil and Gas Opportunities
Oil & Gas UK’s forthcoming breakfast briefing will shine the spotlight on the new generation of companies who are seizing the opportunities on offer on the UK continental shelf (UKCS).
The briefing, which is sponsored by Endeavour International Corporation, will be given by senior figures from three ambitious and dynamic international companies, all of which only started investing on the UKCS within the last decade, including:
- Archie Kennedy, UK managing director and vice president Europe at Nexen Petroleum U.K. Limited
- Bill Transier, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Endeavour International Corporation
- Jim House, regional vice president and managing director at Apache North Sea
The event will take place on 3 May at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre from 7am to 9.30am. Oil & Gas UK’s chief executive, Malcolm Webb, will chair the breakfast.
Taking the stage first will be Archie Kennedy who will describe his company’s current investments and ambitious plans for the future and then reflect on how recent changes to the tax and regulatory regime might affect operations in the UK.
Bill Transier and Jim House will also share their companies’ aspirations in the UK and reflect on how the regulatory regime could be further amended to boost business. Following a short networking break the speakers will form a panel to answer questions and comments from the audience.
Commenting, Malcolm Webb said: “With up to 24 billion barrels of oil and gas still to recover from the UKCS and a Government which understands the need to invest, opportunities for dynamic, ambitious companies to pioneer new technologies and sustain successful businesses here are in abundance.
"I look forward to hearing our speakers, who between them have many decades of experience in the exploration and production, share how their companies will seize the opportunities on offer in order to maximise recovery and the economic benefits for the country as a whole.”
