EU funding for improved pedestrian and cyclist safety in Novo mesto

SLOVENIA, May 14 - A new bus stop will be designed and implemented in Novo mesto at the junction of the Seidel cesta road and Koštialova ulica street as part of the EU-funded project. The reconstruction of the Seidel cesta road will include a newly developed 570-meter-long pedestrian and bike path extending from the junction with the Cankarjeva ulica street towards Ločna. These measures will help improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, reduce negative environmental impacts of motorised traffic and encourage more people to choose cycling and walking over driving for everyday commuting.

The project will be carried out in the scope of Slovenia's EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, under priority Sustainable urban mobility. It will pursue specific objective Promoting sustainable multimodal urban mobility, as part of transition to a net zero carbon economy.

The 1,236.557.03 project will receive €835,556.68 from the European Regional Development Fund.
